Hiring a guide for winter hill walking
Winter days are tailored to individual requirements and aspirations, making a very rewarding day out. On a typical day we will look at winter equipment, movement on snowy and icy terrain, and general winter hazards, as part of a mountain journey. We would hope to include a summit in our walk and can discuss options with you before hand.
Hill walking in winter presents a unique set of challenges and requires specialist equipment such as axes and crampons. We recommend that you hire or purchase this equipment (a number of companies offer hire services on the Scottish mainland), but occasionally some is available to borrow. We are always happy to discuss equipment and to assist with arranging hire where necessary. If you do not have the appropriate equipment for the conditions, it may mean that your day is cut short or the itinerary changed for safety reasons.
No previous winter walking experience is necessary but a good level of fitness and some summer walking experience is essential.
To book, simply enquire through the contact page and we will put together an itinerary that is perfect for you and your group. There is a 40% deposit payable on booking. There is a calendar of availability at the bottom of this page.
